(2012)
A small-town girl and a city boy meet on the Sunset Strip, while pursuing their Hollywood dreams.
While unrelated other than the title, The Rock of Ages ceremony began in the late 1920s at the Carlsbad Caverns, with the first recorded event on July 27, 1928. It is said that a visitor, baritone Cameron McClean, was so inspired by the cave’s beauty that he sang the hymn "Rock of Ages" at a prominent column in the Big Room, which has since been named the Rock of Ages. The tradition was embraced by the first park superintendent, Thomas Boles, who enhanced the experience by extinguishing lights and having rangers sing the hymn during tours, creating a memorable finale for visitors. Over time, the ceremony became a cherished local tradition, though it was eventually paused due to National Park Service policy changes.
